Claire Denham-Smith is a South East London artist and designer working with engraved glass, stained glass, textiles and mixed media. Her work explores themes of mythology, memory and emotional traces through detailed hand-crafted processes.
Drawing inspiration from folklore, religious imagery, the natural world and personal experience, she creates layered pieces that combine precision with fragility. In the glass work, changing natural light alters the atmosphere and intensity of the image throughout the day. With a background in jewellery design, her practice is rooted in craftsmanship, material process and the emotional weight objects and symbols carry.
