Wonderfully Weird
Fairy tales, myths and legends have been my main inspiration within my work as they have long been a fascination for me. The main concepts within my practice have been based around creating a story within my work, developing visual imagery that also has a sense of irony and humour in it. My main techniques of working have been to use collage and line drawing.
Collage has been an invaluable way for me to create my own unique characters. I use digital textile printing for my designs and make them into cushions, tote bags and fabric characters. I also like to make fabric characters with handstiched faces, and more recently miniture little handstiched creatures on plain calico.
