Allison Parkinson (Tiger’s Eye Books) is a Lewisham-based children’s author and illustrator. Her books celebrate diversity and take young readers on fun and educational adventures. Her Laurella Swift historical fiction series chronicles the time-travelling adventures of a 10-year-old Catford schoolgirl – and her picture book character Zarif the Tiger is also the star of her card game: ROAR! Allison’s most recent book: Sea Glass is a magical trilogy of short stories for all ages, set in Jersey, where she was born. Through her books, storytelling sessions and story crafting workshops, Allison hopes to do her small bit to help more children see themselves at the centre of adventures.
