Tamara Froud

Tamara Froud

There are two things I remember from growing up: drawing and making mud pies! Fast forward a few years of studying, travelling, and odd jobs, and I finally stumbled upon mosaics. I’ve never looked back! I find creating mosaics both fulfilling and therapeutic. It’s a chance to take a breath, to lose myself in the creative process. While my community work is often about themes, my personal work is about exploring materials, textures, and forms - a dance of deconstruction and reconstruction; of smashing things and putting them back together; of mixing mosaics with other elements - concrete, sculptural bases or metalwork.

Most of all, I love to work with materials that are tougher and more enduring than I am and to create something that stands the test of time. I realise that the mud pie maker has been in there all along!

WHERE TO FIND ME: You can catch Tamara Froud at the Catford Arts Trail 2025 - venue no. 13 - 44 St Fillans Road - SE6 1DG
