Minette Ceramics

Minette Ceramics

I make small batches of hand-built ceramics from my home studio in SE6. The mainly functional pieces reflect my love of colour and surface pattern. Collaged shapes form a major part of the making process, both in the paper stencils I use to mask the layers of slip and underglazes and as hand-cut decals fired onto the glazed surface.

Inspiration is taken from landscapes, maps and natural forms – abstracted into repeat patterns and shapes, with a mid-century flavour. The nature of hand-built ceramics mean that every piece has its own quirks and individuality.
